LPGA vs PGA Tour Averages

The raw gap between tours is real, but it's almost entirely a swing speed story. LPGA average driver swing speed is 94 mph; PGA average is 113 mph. That 19 mph difference accounts for roughly 57-60 yards of driver carry — which lines up almost exactly with the observed gap between the two tours.

7-Iron 172 yds 139 yds +33 yds

How LPGA Distances Compare to Amateur Men

Here's the unique insight most amateurs miss: LPGA Tour average distances are comparable to many male amateur golfers in the 5-15 handicap range. A 10-handicap male golfer carrying his driver 220 yards is just above the LPGA Tour average. A 15-handicap hitting 205 yards is right at LPGA average.

This cuts both ways. For women amateurs, it shows that LPGA-level distances are elite and not the baseline — a mid-handicap woman is still dozens of yards short of tour average. For men, it's a reality check: if you're carrying your driver less than 218 yards, you're shorter than the LPGA average.
